HEMPOMEGA® vs. HEMP SEED

Naturally Splendid and its partners have engaged leading research facilities to perform comprehensive testing of HempOmega®. The B.C. Cancer Research Centre conducted studies on mice to assess bio-availability, and the University of Manitoba performed studies with poultry feed to assess omega levels in chicken eggs and thigh meat. In both studies, the results are as impressive and unprecedented as HempOmega® itself.

POULTRY STUDY

Naturally Splendid partnered with Dr. Jim House at the University of Manitoba Human Nutritional Sciences Department to conduct a study on poultry feed using HempOmega®.

Male and female chickens were fed a control diet, a diet including raw hemp oil, or a diet including HempOmega® in order to assess the effects on the composition of fatty acids in thigh meat and eggs.

THE RESULTS

Omega content in eggs was observed after feeding with HempOmega® versus hemp oil alone.

Eggs laid by chickens that were supplemented with HempOmega® showed a 637% increase in omega content, and a decrease in the amount of saturated fatty acids within the yolks of eggs was observed.

Additionally, the omega content of the chickens’ thigh meat increased by 372%.

MOUSE STUDY

B.C. CANCER CENTER

Naturally Splendid contracted with The Investigational Drug Program at the B.C. Cancer Research Center to conduct bio-availability studies in order to establish credible evidence of the efficacy and sustainability of HempOmega®.

Following oral administration of HempOmega®, plasma levels of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids in female mice were assessed.

THE RESULTS

The ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 fatty acids in the plasma of mice was lower in those given HempOmega®. A lower ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 EFA's is desirable in reducing the risk of many chronic diseases.

HempOmega® proved to be more effective then hemp oil alone as a nutritional source of Omega-6 and Omega-3 fatty acids. It was demonstrated to provide a greater uptake and maintains higher plasma levels at the ratios recommended and recognized to provide heart and brain health benefits.
